It is going to be a great weekend in Gatesville!

Have you ever walked around the Courthouse in Gatesville on the rock fence? Sam did. Don't be surprised if some stories take you down memory lane.

Just in: My Little David received a nomination for a Christian book award.

I’m so excited to be invited to be invited to the “Author Showcase” at Gatesville's Block Party (Block out the Sun) on April 6, 2024. Please join me there and pick up a signed copy of My Little David. The Gatesville Courthouse picture on the front of the book is by Lisa Roebuck.

My Little David is a real-life story of love, humor, and adventure. As Sam and Grandad get into mischief, an endearing picture of their precious relationship stands out. Learn from Grandad's unique way of challenging Sam to ask questions while simultaneously intriguing him with a touch of mystery. Help Sam solve what he thinks is a hidden code. Use his journey as a teaching tool for young readers to direct their gift of love back to their Creator, God. Each chapter will warm your heart while making you laugh. Step back in time to a simpler era and watch as they eliminate boredom from everyday life in rural Texas (Coryell County).

My Little David is Joye Thackston’s third published book. Her first two are If Only Donkeys Could Talk and The Desire of Sarah’s Heart.

Joye and Douglas are retired and live in central Texas. She attended East Texas State and later opened her own company. While volunteering in the women’s prison ministry, Joye recognized the importance of reaching all children, not just her own, with God’s Word. She began writing soon after.

Growing up in a large family that believed children made the world go around provided her with stacks of stories to share. Today, her grandchildren continue to inspire stories.
