Man of Dreams - Be Confidant in God
Greetings in the Strong Name of Jesus!!!
Hebrews 11:1 - "Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see." NLT
My father was a man of dreams. Some of them became reality, but unfortunately many of them never did. What was interesting was to watch him deal with those dreams. Some of the dreams were so intertwined within his heart and mind he would not let anything deter him from further research in an effort to bring that dream into reality. Other dreams were those he only thought about in passing. Still others were dreams he knew would only be reality in eternity.
One thing I saw as I observed my father, he had a faith that would not let things go until either they happened or they proved to be something he would probably never see. One of those dreams was about providing the world with a machine that would make electricity and the gasoline engine obsolete. It began as only a dream. It soon became a passion. And quite frankly, after my mother passed, I believe it became nearly an obsession. In his mind, however he saw the completed machine, running and producing electricity for thousands of people especially in third world countries.
What was interesting, and the point of my thoughts, was this - though time and again the flaws of the machine or the flaws in his scientific calculations were pointed out to him he would not be deterred. He would always take those objections, recalculate, redesign, and somehow press on in bringing his dream into a reality. He was resolved in his thinking that this machine would work!
There was a confidence in him that what he hoped for would actually happen and he had an assurance that though he could not see the end result this machine would be developed.
I will be quick to add, his faith in God was no less passionate. Everything he read in God's Word he believed. All that he learned about God and God's plan and purpose for his life he believed and had faith that God would make the things happen that He had promised in His Word. Much of God's purposes were fulfilled in my father's life because of his deep faith in God. Today all of God's purposes are now reality for he is with his God. Those things he held on to through a passionate faith are now realized.
There are a myriad of things in my life I have yet to see come to pass. But I have learned, as my father learned, to be confident in my God. To be assured that what He has said He will do he will do. I know whom I have believed and I am persuaded He is able to make all things He has promised come to pass. That, I believe is faith.
Are you believing Him with a passionate faith? Regardless of what you see around you do you believe God will make good on every promise He has made to you? I do!!
You are loved and prayed for!!!
