Young Fruits of the Spirit
Have you ever wondered what the Fruits of the Spirit are?
You are not alone.
Many people do not understand.
Yet, as Christ followers, you already have these fruits growing inside your heart.
God planted the seeds. The Holy Spirit nurtured them. Your parents and family watered them. These fruits grew and grew and you are witnessing for God, your creator.
Wow, how wonderful this is…
You are planted, nourished, watered just like we know that fruit trees and bushes start as a seed. You will not see plants or trees growing out of you. These fruits are inside you, helping you and others to live a Christian life. You will be more like Jesus. Each seed is planted in good soil, just perfect for their growth. And the gardener (Holy Spirit) watches and provides for each seed as it grows into Love, Kindness, Patience, Joy, Peace, Gentleness, Goodness, Faithfulness, and Self-control.
Can you see these seeds growing inside your heart?
Are you doing “good” by helping others, by studying your Sunday School lessons, by listening and “minding” your parents and others in charge?
When you make “good” decisions, it feels “good” in your heart, inside YOU. But when you don’t do “good”, then you don’t feel “good” and this is our Heavenly Father and our parents are sad that you chose the bad decision. The “Fruits of the Spirit” are still alive and growing in your heart, so you know that your decision what bad… and now you will choose the “good” things to do as you play, as you do your lessons, as you listen and respond favorably to what your parents tell you to do, as you go to church, as you treat others and do all the other activities of everyday life.
“Fruits of the Spirit” continue to grow in your heart. You can feel them growing each day as you make “good” choices. Helping others is so rewarding; it feels good to do it. And you like feeling good. God knows that you are His child. Your parents and others know this as you live each day of your life to the Glory of our Heavenly Father.
The more you follow Jesus, the more your Fruits of the Spirit will grow and others will see your good works and know that you are a child of God.
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things (Galatians 5:22-23NLT).
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9 NLT).
